This is a great way to spend time with friends, colleagues or family learning a new activity and a great introduction to sailing if you are considering taking a course. These are great outings for visitors. and if you do have a group we can accommodate you with your own time and booking.
You don’t need any experience, just some warm clothing and a pair of sports shoes. We provide the sailing jackets and safety equipment. If it is fine then there is no place more beautiful – if it is windy then there is no place more exhilarating!
What to Wear
This course has an on-the-water component. Dress warmly, even in summer. A wool or polypropylene base layer is a good idea, with at least one more warm layer on top. We provide you with a good quality set of breathable waterproof gear (pants and jacket) along with a life-jacket. A hat and sunglasses are also a good idea. Make sure that you have a strap or similar so that you don’t lose these overboard![/tab]
Harbour Sails are weather dependent. We want you to have a great, safe experience. In order to make the best decision we can with regard to weather we will notify you on the day of the sail if it isn’t going ahead. If we cancel due to weather you have the option to rebook another session or get a refund. If you are coming from out of town and would like to know about possible cancellations prior to the sail please email us.
Children over 5 can sail on a harbour sail at the discretion of the instructor (based on conditions). Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at a ratio of 1 to 1. All children need their own crew ticket.
