The Wellington Ocean Sports Holiday Programme will be running in term breaks and covers a variety of sports including, sailing, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding.
Each session will be 6-hours duration from 9.00am until 3.00pm, and single or multiple days can be booked.
Activities will be governed by the weather and popularity with the kids, but they will experience at least two water sports activities a day. There will be bad weather options of theory, making paper boats, and potentially model boat racing. These are best enjoyed as a group activity so round up their friends and they will have a great time learning new skills and confidence of movement, in an encouraging environment.
No experience is necessary.
Everything is provided except lunch – please bring a cut lunch.
Minimum age is 10 years
- This course has an on-the-water component. Dress warmly, even in summer. A wool or polypropylene base layer is a good idea, with at least one more warm layer on top. We provide you with a good quality set of breathable waterproof gear (pants and jacket) along with a lifejacket. A hat and sunglasses are also a good idea. Make sure that you have a strap or similar so that you don’t lose these overboard! For the kayaking and sub boarding there is a chance of getting wet so a change of cloths and a towel is recommended. We do have wet suits but if they have their own that would be good to bring as well.
- This course is partly weather dependent. We will go on-the-water if it is safe to do so, but if it too windy, too wet or too cold, then we might have to stay ashore.
- The January Summer holiday programme starts on the 15th January through to 2nd February, please book online or contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org or 04 939 6702) to express interest.
