The Club Safety Boat operator course is a Coastguard boating education course and has two variants – a sailing club and a rowing club version. This course is recommended by Rowing New Zealand and Yachting NZ.

While there are no prerequisites for this course, we recommend that you consider completing the Marine VHF Radio Operators Qualification and a First Aid course first. We also recommend that you consider the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course for operators of craft powered by 25HP or more.
